Since first explorers got to this system, astrophysicists wonder what scratched the surface of this little moon orbiting ringed gas giant. Once they even came up with the idea of big space monster which lay eggs inside the planets and when little monsters hatch, they break through the surface leaving deep scars.

Again, entirely painted with round brush, no textures used.
Photoshop, Wacom tablet and a few cups of coffee.

Inspired by Cassini's photos of Saturn system.

Many thanks to :iconchriscold: for his critique :) Yeah, this time you've got icon dude xD

EDIT: Thanks to =hoevelkamp for suggesting it for a DD and thanks for ^gucken for featuring it :)

Make sure to check also 'Making of Torn' :)

Suggester says:
"We all have been looking at spaceart from similar angles, this one is fresh and original. The broken moon is one of the best things I've seen in our field in a long time. This has to be a DD or I'm a Gremlin."

I like the colours or the rings, Saturn is one of my favorite planets.
I also like the little moon above the rings. Did you really make it? I screw up editing real images (sad, huh).
Is It Dione? Sorry If I screwed everything by being a dork, just asking.
Thanks!

I really likes the fact that you dont see the big planet and just the shadow of it. It makes the piece a little big mysterious :D
