To bad it sez NASA. It would have been nice to be a StarWars imperial destroier and the little dude punished by Wader to clean out the engine!

I really hope humanity will one day be able to build ships with such huge engine bells.

Excellent. Emphasizes the scale of everything really well, and the gigantic black voids do a good job of making it incredibly ominous, doubtlessly the reason for all the fried-astronaut comments below.

I'd love to see a picture of the entire ship, but it really wouldn't be complete without the astronaut for scale, so I'm not sure how big such a picture would need to be. This is great, anyway.

Hey Steve, you shut off the conveyer system leading to the Thrusters right?

Yeah, the Port and Starboard ones, we gotta keep moving so the Stern ones are still online, booting them up in 3...

Hey Steve...

Yeah?

I'm looking into Stern thruster 7.

...Nice knowing you.

Really looks like the engines of an Imperial-class Star Destroyer from Star Wars. Anyways, good job...

This is why space requires a robust lock-out/tag-out system.

Like decending into an abyss. Only this time it's the bellows of a gigantic thruster... I like the ominous looming and the scale of all things here.

Thank you for giving us scale. :worship:
I never feel like I'm really looking at gigantic things because they keep the subject big. This image is one my small ape brain can understand.

What kind of engines are these? They look like pusher plates for a nuclear pulse propulsion system like Orion.

as much as I love the nuclear pulse propulsion, this one is unfortunately a bit more ordinary kind of drive, maybe some magnetoplasma or just good old and inefficient chemical propulsion

Master of size and scale. I can just feel being utterly dwarfed by this high technology. I like the smart composition and the deep wells of space that we ourselves make.
